Three hours from the Nova Scotia Ferry.

After arriving in Port Basques by the Gulf Ferry, Deer Lake Motel is a 3 hour drive from the ferry terminal. After leaving the ferry, you pass take the Trans Canada Highway heading East. through the Codroy Valley and on to the Humber Valley. Thirty minutes after entering the Humber Valley, you will arrive at Deer Lake.

If you arrive by airplane and arrive in Deer Lake, you have a 5 minute drive by shuttle bus or rent a car to reach Deer Lake Motel.

As can be seen on the map, Deer Lake is the hub of West Coast and the Northern Peninsula.  Take the Trans Canada Highway to travel to locations East and West.  To travel to the Northern Peninsula along Route 430 North. Within 10 minutes along Route 430 North, you will come to the exit to Big Falls Salmon River.  Twenty minutes North along Route 430, you will come to the entrance to Gros Morne National Park and all that it has to offer.
